Offering Price

Published Editorial review How we check the data

Short answer

The price at which shares are sold to investors in the offering.

The offering price is the price investors pay for shares in the IPO before regular exchange trading begins. Underwriters and the company set it after considering the business, market conditions, valuation, and indications of investor demand. Once trading starts, the market price can move above or below the offering price.
