CSG’s Amsterdam IPO: what the €3.8 billion headline included
CSG listed in January 2026 at €25 per share. The defence group’s headline offer value included a large shareholder sale and a conditional overallotment.
CSG N.V. entered Euronext Amsterdam on 23 January 2026 at an IPO price of €25 per share. Euronext’s transaction record confirms the date, ticker CSG and ISIN NL0015073TS8. This is a review of the completed flotation, using the transaction’s original pricing rather than a current stock quotation. Official IPO record.
The headline valuation was €25 billion. Euronext described the flotation as the largest defence IPO then recorded by both amount raised and market capitalisation. The group develops defence and ammunition products, with related activities including aerospace. Its role as a supplier to NATO states and partners was central to the exchange’s description of the listing. Euronext’s admission announcement.
The structure explains why the headline €3.8 billion was not all new funding for the business. CSG’s admission release identified €750 million from newly issued shares, €2.554 billion of existing shares sold by CSG FIN and an overallotment option of up to approximately €496 million. The €3.8 billion gross total assumed full exercise of that option. The company said net proceeds from the primary component would be used for general corporate purposes. A subsequent operating disclosure offers a more specific way to follow the business. For the first quarter of 2026, CSG reported revenue of €1.544 billion and a €17 billion order backlog. Its May trading statement also described expansion of its own ammunition production and deeper control of production inputs. These figures relate to that quarter, rather than the IPO date. The analytical issue is delivery capacity. An order backlog is a useful measure of demand, but it becomes revenue and cash only as contracts are fulfilled. Readers following this manufacturer should examine production investment, working capital requirements and conversion of orders into delivered products alongside the original offer valuation.
