LG Electronics India's 2025 IPO was a parent share sale
Archive: the October 2025 listing sold a 15 percent stake at INR 1,140 per share. Proceeds went to the selling parent rather than the Indian company.
Archive: LG Electronics India began trading in October 2025. Its listing announcement dates the NSE debut to 14 October 2025. The IPO price was INR 1,140 per share, at the top of the indicated range. This is a completed listing, not a new offer expected in 2026.
The allotment notice hosted by the NSE records 101,815,859 shares sold by LG Electronics Inc. The transaction represented 15 percent of the Indian company's capital. It was entirely an offer for sale of existing shares. Its approximately INR 116.05 billion headline value should therefore not be presented as cash raised by the Indian operating business.
The commercial story goes beyond a change in ownership. LG linked the listing to manufacturing and products tailored to Indian households. Its statement described existing production in Noida and Pune and a planned investment of INR 50.01 billion in a new Sri City factory. That investment programme was separate from the IPO's shareholder sale.
A product announcement published immediately after the listing provides a concrete example of the local strategy. The Essential Series included refrigerators, washing machines, room air conditioners and ovens. LG said development drew on research with more than 1,200 families and addressed conditions such as low water pressure and humidity.
Future reporting should test whether that localisation translates into sales and margins, and how factory spending affects cash flow. Unit demand, production utilisation and the balance between affordable products and premium models are more useful measures than the size of the shareholder sale alone. The factory and product details above record the plans announced around the 2025 IPO; they do not assert that every target has subsequently been completed.
