Published Editorial review How we check the data

OPay took a concrete step towards a US flotation on 9 October 2026 by filing a public registration statement. The company has applied to list depositary shares on the New York Stock Exchange under OPAY. The preliminary prospectus leaves the offer price and number of shares blank. A filing therefore establishes an offering process, rather than a completed listing or a confirmed trading date.

The financial backdrop is striking. Revenue for the six months to 30 June rose to $467.1 million from $197.5 million a year earlier, while net income increased to $90.9 million from $21.7 million. Reuters reported the same figures in German. These historical results describe operating performance, not the value at which new shareholders will be offered shares.

For investors following the pipeline, the useful next question is what price accompanies that growth. A profitable business can still produce disappointing shareholder returns if its initial valuation assumes too much future expansion. Lending activity also makes the quality of earnings and the treatment of credit losses important parts of the assessment.

The next documents to watch are amendments setting the price range, share count and expected proceeds. Until those appear, any proposed fundraising total should be treated according to its source and conditions. This article records the public filing available for research on 20 October 2026 and does not report a completed flotation.
