IPO date, ticker, and IPO offer price are not yet confirmed.
The short version
Databricks remains a private data and AI company. Its CEO said in June that he planned to avoid a 2026 IPO; the August private round is a newer financing milestone without an offering date.
No offering timetable is confirmed.
Run-rate needs its own definition and date.
Company in detail
Databricks brings data engineering, analytics and AI development into a shared enterprise platform. Its roots are in the UC Berkeley research community, and its products include Lakebase, Genie and tools for deploying agents. The investment case would concern the infrastructure companies use to work with their own data and support business workflows.
Combining storage, governance and AI can reduce the number of disconnected systems customers operate. Our analysis would ask how much spending consolidates onto Databricks, how easily workloads can move and whether new AI products add business beyond existing analytics. Those questions require customer and profitability disclosures that a funding release cannot provide.
Ali Ghodsi said in a June interview that he planned to stay out of the 2026 IPO market. The subsequent August funding announcement demonstrates access to substantial private capital. No confirmed offer schedule was found, so this is a prospective listing candidate.
The company reports annualized revenue run-rate and private transaction valuations. Run-rate expresses a pace at a point in time; it is not audited revenue earned over a full financial year. A future prospectus would allow examination of consumption patterns, cloud costs and the relationship between expansion and cash generation.
