Jio IPO: reported October launch follows regulatory milestone
A reported 21 October opening follows Jio's August regulatory observation letter. The public draft and latest operating figures provide the confirmed foundation.
October plans remain reported
Reporting on 5 October 2026 described a possible 21 October opening for Jio Platforms' initial public offering, followed by trading on 28 October. The account relied on people familiar with the plans; Reliance had not supplied confirmation in that report. As of 7 October, those dates remain reported expectations rather than a verified final issuer timetable.
The confirmed offering structure
A firmer milestone came on 28 August, when Reliance disclosed that Jio Platforms had received a regulatory observation letter on its draft prospectus. The public June draft proposes up to 270 million fresh shares, with no offer for sale by existing shareholders, and seeks listings on BSE and NSE.
The intended use of proceeds includes repayment of borrowings at Reliance Jio Infocomm. That makes debt reduction a central part of the offer story. The final price will determine both the capital raised and the valuation public investors are asked to accept.
A newer operating snapshot
Jio Platforms' quarter ended 30 June 2026 brought revenue of ₹391.73 billion and EBITDA of ₹208.65 billion, a 53.3% margin. Connectivity subscribers reached 533 million, including 285 million 5G users, while fixed-broadband subscribers totalled 28.6 million.
These figures provide a dated measure of operating scale; the revenue covers one quarter. For the IPO watchlist, the next decisive evidence is the final offer document and confirmed exchange schedule. A regulatory milestone and a reported launch plan do not themselves establish an offer price or first trading day.
